Where History Meets Celebration
A Unique and Historic Event Venue Located in Whitehall, NY
A Repurposed Piece of U.S. History
Originally known as The Whitehall Armory, The Whitehall Castle is a remarkable historic landmark located in the heart of Whitehall, New York, in scenic Washington County. Built in 1899 and designed by renowned New York State Architect Isaac G. Perry, this extraordinary brick-and-stone structure was inspired by the grand medieval fortresses of Europe, giving it the appearance of a true castle. The architectural masterpiece features a two-story administration building with a distinctive hip roof, an attached gable-roofed drill hall, a striking five-story octagonal tower, and a dramatic three-and-a-half-story round tower. Its unique castle-like design makes it one of the most memorable historic buildings in the region.
Over the years, we have dedicated countless hours to carefully restoring and preserving this incredible piece of New York history. Today, The Whitehall Castle stands proudly as a one-of-a-kind residence, a valued community resource, and an unforgettable destination for special events. Whether you’re planning a wedding, corporate retreat, family gathering, private celebration, community event, The Whitehall Castle offers an unforgettable setting rich in character, history, and charm.
